In the spring of 2010, Kruse Enterprises joined forces under Cobalt Construction Company to provide construction management services for the civil site construction on a 45MW Solar Power Farm in Montalto di Castro, Italy.  Because of the unique talents and abilities of our management team we were asked to be the onsite owner’s representative to implement a civil work plan that was more typical of a job in the US than in Italy.  One unique challenge involved teaching local contractors new and different construction practices while working through a translator to overcome the language barrier.  The weather, cultural differences, and a tight schedule also added to the complexity of the job.  Ultimately, we were able to bring the project in on time, to spec, and within budget and made some friends in the process.
